Nordic Lights (www.nordiclights.com) the global leader in the manufacture of lighting solutions for heavy duty on road and off road applications have expanded their testing capabilities with the installation of an IMV Vibration Test System.
The installation was completed during Q3 2015 with the support of IMV’s exclusive distributor in Finland, Omniray (www.omniray.com)
The purpose built facility features a 40kN vibration test system from IMV, which enables Nordic Lights to perform high level Sine, Random and Shock tests in both vertical and horizontal axis.
The EM2501-SA4M vibration system that has been installed, also features the latest ECO technology from IMV.
The ECO system is at the forefront of IMV’s growth across the world, as many customers are eager to make cost savings and reduce carbon emissions during their testing programs. For Nordic Lights this functionality was one of the deciding factors when choosing IMV as the supplier for their new facility.
Nordic Lights will also now be able to perform extreme shock testing on the EM2501 as the system can achieve velocitys of 3.5 m/s. Shock testing is now considered to be a key part of any durability test program, the high performance of the EM2501 system ensures that Nordic Lights can perform to the very latest specifications and also has added capability should these specifications increase in terms of g levels and pulse duration.
To also ensure that Nordic Lights can also monitor the health of the vibration system over time, the EM2501 comes complete with the ISM software package from IMV, which allows the european based service team to remotely log into the test system remotely and view the critical system parameters for future service and maintance planning.
